Service Gateway – SSO For Your Enterprise Portal
When you use SSO, then you need a Login Page
which works with your organization model. You also need an application that is easy for you to access if you need it. This means that you want an application that may be customized and built around your business model and SSO. Service Gateway has these two things.
When you use SSO, it is very important to get a login page that works as you expect. If you are using the support portal real estate to automatically redirect users to their main Identity Provider, Service Gateway will automatically redirect them to that Identity Provider. But when you’ve got several Identity Providers, Service Gateway shows a link on your login page to’Use external login’.
The main reason why I mention this link is because Service Gateway provides this link so that when your clients enter their login information in the portal they can simply click on this hyperlink. It is going to subsequently send them to their own primary Identity Provider. This saves them having to go through the lengthy process of getting their login information manually into the portal. Service Gateway’s solution to this problem is to redirect the customers for their external supplier.
The upcoming great feature of Service Gateway is its ability to handle your password storage. Ever since your service is all about identity and security then it should be easy to deal with your password. Service Gateway utilizes its inbuilt password management application. If your password becomes compromised it will be flashed and you will have a safe password again.
A number of the password management tools provided by Service Gateway include the capability to configure your own password as you want, you can even set the password for your user login and then set the password for that user login. If your password becomes compromised along with an individual accesses your Service Gateway website using their login info that password will be instantly reset.
All of these features make Service Gateway quite simple to use and configure. There are a whole lot of different features but these mentioned here are what I feel are the best.
The downside to this system is that as long as you get a username and password setup then your website will be able to be accessed using your own username and password. There are a couple other options like allowing people to gain access to your website using an IP address or even allowing them to sign in using a social security number.
Many of the other websites like to bill you some type of subscription fee once you get access to their own support gateways. You truly have to do a bit of study on your own to find out which ones are worth your while. Most of them really are a really low cost and cheap for most companies.
I would also advise checking the reviews on these sites to see what others think about the services. I personally do not utilize any of the paid ones since they all seem quite similar.
